Responsibilities

This hybrid position is located at our corporate office in Westmont, IL and requires 3 days a week onsite.

Crash Champions is looking for a talented and motivated individual to be a key player in the build out of the Accounting Department. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring and maintaining effective and accurate controls & reporting over their assigned Balance Sheet accounts. This teammate will be responsible for preparing regular and ad hoc reporting of various functions including our property accounting. This would include identifying and implementing changes to continuously drive best in class processes, working cross functionally across the organization.

General Ledger Management:

  • Oversee the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.

  • Conduct regular account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor annual budgets.

  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts.

Internal Controls:

  • Implement and monitor internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Audit Support:

  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits.

  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.

  • Streamline accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Provide meaningful variance analysis and insights to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Accounting or Finance

  • Strong communicator, capable of working with peers and senior management

  • Strong analytical thinker

  • Independent, self-starter that works well in team environment

  • Capable of quickly adapting to change

  • Proficiency in MS Office products – intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Excel

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Deep understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties

  • Ability to work cross functionally and act as a liaison with all levels or organization and external business partnerships

  • Ability to adapt in fast-paced environments

  • Debt/Lender management preferred

  • Previous private equity experience a plus
