The ATE - Manager, Tooling and EV will work to ensure that ATE and Crash Champions have the necessary EV knowledge and tooling that supports day-to-day operations. This role will maintain relationships with OE and aftermarket automotive tooling partners to research and implement technology aligned with ATE operations. The manager will collaborate with field leadership, the training manager, and other departments to introduce new tools, equipment, EV practices, and technology. Leading partnerships with OE for tool development is key to ATE's future success.
Responsibilities
The position requires hands-on experience with the ability to teach and motivate others to learn. Key responsibilities include:
Manage the Tooling and EV Department overseeing Tooling, EV, and Research Specialists
Create methods and processes to efficiently inventory, install, and maintain tooling, equipment, and technology.
Create and maintain processes for ATE’s EV day-to-day operations collaborating with the training department to relay safety and EV handling information.
Oversee the relationship that supports Crash Champions EV/Luxe customers and strategies.
Lead research, development, and testing for new technology relating to ADAS, Diagnostic Equipment, and other ATE Operational needs.
Collaborate with development teams to expand ATE’s management systems, remote technology, and diagnostic tooling.
Maintain relationships with OE Manufacturers to obtain and implement recently released technology and upkeep licensing agreements.
Create process to certify ADAS Calibration service areas adhering to OE standards to properly service ATE customers
Collaborate with field representation and unfitting vendors to adequately up fit mobile technician vehicles with required tooling and technology for most efficiency.
Identify high-potential employees and create career development paths and succession plans.
Manage and maintain a procedure library for quick reference by any ATE Personnel
Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Qualifications
10+ years of automotive background servicing and diagnosing automotive systems
5+ years working as an ADAS Calibration Technician, or similar proving advanced knowledge in ADAS and electrical services, equipment/tooling, and procedures
Deep knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols related to ADAS and EV technologies
7+ years of management and training experience
Strong technological skills, including but not limited to: Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Proven ability to research and develop processes to effectively communicate concepts.
Exude professionalism showing passion for the industry with an unwavering drive to doing things correctly
Overnight travel may be required, 35 to 50% of time, depending on drivability of assigned market
Air travel may be required
A safe driving record and a valid Driver’s License required
Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in automotive shop environments
